SF31 on arrival
SF31 arrived at Southampton Docks on Tuesday 4th July 2000 after just over 7 weeks at sea on board M.V. Madame Butterfly of Wallenius Wilhelmsen. Keeping SF31 company on the journey from Hong Kong were 4 former LM-class Olympians for First PMT, 18 former MLs and a solitary DL for Ensignbus.
On the Friday SF31 was collected from the docks and almost started first time. After 'jumping' the battery from the spare batteries brought from Falkirk in the hired support car, she burst into life.
Following a 22 hour journey (including numerous breaks) SF31 arrived at Alexanders in Falkirk at 11am on Saturday 8th July. Here she was to spend the night before continuing on to the Museum the following day.
On the Sunday, the good weather of the previous day had turned to rain as SF31 left Alexanders, after pausing for photographs alongside the 3-axle Tridents for KCRC. She entered the Museum at 2pm on July 9th 2000.
